About Murray Harris
Murray Harris is Spicers National Investment Manager, Chairman of Spicers Investment Management Committee and a member of Spicers Senior Management Team.
A regular financial and investment commentator on Newstalk ZB with Danny Watson and Larry Williams, Murray is also a contributor to TV One Breakfast. He has more than 15 years financial services experience gained with multi-national organisations in London and New Zealand.
Prior to joining Spicers, Murray was Business Development Director and Relationship Manager at Goldman Sachs JBWere Asset Management. He successfully led the provision of financial products to New Zealand institutional investors including central government investment authorities, community trusts, charities and corporate superannuation schemes.
Prior to Goldman Sachs, Murray spent 11 years with BT Funds Management (NZ) where he was a Vice President and was effective in a number of senior management roles.
Murray is a business graduate from Massey University and holds a Diploma of Financial Markets from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. He is also a Fellow of the Institute. He is also an active member of the Institute of Financial Advisers and Workplace Savings New Zealand.
About Jeff Matthews
Jeff Matthews has been a practicing financial adviser for more than 17 years. He studied international economics in California, and spent six years living and working in Sweden where he specialised in investment, foreign exchange and international loans. On returning to New Zealand in 1979, Jeff worked for a number of years in merchant banking.
He is a member of the Institute of Financial Planners (IFA) and holds the certified financial planner (CFP) qualification. Jeff is also an executive member of the Estate and Taxation Planning Council of New Zealand. He regularly commentates on investment and financial planning matters on radio and in the press.
Outside work, Jeff has had considerable success as a sportsman. He was the American indoor two-mile champion in 1973 and was awarded “All American” Honours in 1972, 1973 and 1974. He also represented Sweden in the World Cross Country Championships in 1979.
