Spicers Portfolio Management has grown its advisory team with the appointment of John Buchanan and Jeremy Simpson.

John Buchanan joins the Auckland office. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Auckland and is a Chartered Accountant. John is also a qualified Secondary School Teacher. Prior to joining Spicers, he spent 15 years working as an accountant up to the level of Financial Controller. John also spent five years as a teacher of accounting and economics and 12 years recruiting senior accounting professionals.

He says everyone has dreams and ambitions. Whether it's buying your first home, building an investment portfolio, or planning a comfortable retirement. Wherever you are in life, a sound financial strategy can help you to reach your goals sooner.

“My role is to help you identify what goals you want to achieve in the near and long term and then devise a strategy and plan to help you achieve them. For this I’m able to call on my experience as a chartered accountant and teacher to ensure your needs are met. You can rely on me to be completely honest and to be thorough in working to find the best solution for you.”

Jeremy Simpson, who has more than 15 years experience in financial services, joins the Christchurch office. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Jeremy has also attained Advanced Financial Planning Certificates in Pensions and Investments from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London.

He enjoys and values the long term business and professional relationships he develops with clients and considers it a privilege to be able to assist them in achieving their financial objectives.

“Clients can be confident that I’m 100% focused on their best interests. I’m dedicated to providing quality advice, regular reviews and effective administration to keep their financial plans on track.”
